Benefits of Participating in an Internship:

1. Explore one or more of your career interests in a realistic professional setting

How Do I Know If I Qualify?
In order to enroll in internship credits, as student must meet the following requirements:
1.Be a declared communication/journalism major or minor.
2.Have accumulated at least 56 credit hours.
3.Hold a minimum GPA of 2.5
4.Have completed designated core courses in their major/minor.

Reasons to Participate:

1. Graduating students with paid or unpaid internships on their résumé have a much better chance at landing a full-time position upon graduation (Hering, 2010).

2. 80% of employers surveyed view internships as a way to find full time hires (Riemer, 2013).

Something to Think About Before Graduation:

According to the National Center for Education Statistics During the 2013–14 school year, colleges and universities are expected to award 1.8 million bachelor's degrees. When you graduate, what will separate you from the field?
